Krone Butterfly mower breaks the 1000 mark
Krone has written another page in its success story with the EasyCut B 950 Collect, having produced a thousand units.
Spelle, February 2025: There is reason for celebration at Krone even before the beginning of the 2025 grassland season: The thousandth Butterfly mower combination type EasyCut B 950 Collect has just rolled off the assembly line in Spelle. Originally presented at Agritechnica 2017, this mower has thus more than met expectations. This demonstrates that the concept of the machine equipped with auger conveyors for swathing has been a complete success.
The success concept
In combination with a front mounted mower, the triple mower with a working width of 9.45 m achieves an acreage output of up to 14 ha/h. Weight is saved by eliminating a conditioner so that the compactly built mower combination can be used with tractors providing as little as 180 HP power and with relatively low fuel consumption. This makes the EasyCut B 950 Collect the ideal solution for mowing on marshes and nature conservation areas with less stable surfaces, and also on slopes. Thanks to the 45-cm auger conveyors, crops with large forage quantities can be harvested with no problem. The auger and the proven EasyCut cutterbar are arranged parallel to each other and are driven from the outside for optimum crop flow. This leaves a lot of room for high-volume swathing. Clover grass and alfalfa are deposited gently in the swath and rolling losses are prevented.
And speaking of swathing, the swath hoods can be opened and closed hydraulically while working to select three set-down modes: Swathing, wide spreading or wide spreading on one side. One feature that has proven to be especially innovative is that when the mowed forage is moved back and forth over a width of 18 m with the swath flap closed on one side, it is consolidated to a width of 12 m. This makes it easy in the dry summer months when only small quantities of forage are often produced to swath with a Swadro TC 1250 or TC 1370 and collect the crop very efficiently in the harvesting chain.
Update offers additional functions
An ISOBUS operation device and a number of other features have been available for the EasyCut B 950 Collect since the end of 2022, offering an even higher level of comfort. The machine can be operated intuitively with the tractor's own terminal or any ISOBUS terminal, for example the CCI 1200. The front mounted mower is completely integrated into the operation device of the mower combination. The SectionControl function is also available to reduce the driver's workload by means of partial width switching.
Equipped for the future
The EasyCut B 950 Collect can also be used for the process engineering unit (VTE) co-developed by Krone. With the front attachment available for use in addition since 2023, the VTE can now be coupled with triple combinations and used even more efficiently.
With the thousandth EasyCut B 950 Collect unit, Krone demonstrates once again its great innovative ability and customer focus – yet another example of how peak quality and efficiency meet the challenges of modern agriculture.
